Since 1998, Heritage Insurance has become the largest private insurance company in Tanzania with after tax profits of Tshs 1.521 billion, net assets exceeding Tshs 14.2 billion and a AA- rating by Global Credit Rating Company for claims paying ability.
Historically Heritage has focused on corporate business, insuring non-life corporate risk and has a fully qualified technical team to advise on Complete Risk Management Services.
Going forward we intend to enter growth markets in the retail sector with exciting new products and distribution channels.
Heritage Insurance is a subsidiary of The Heritage Insurance Company, Kenya whose roots can be traced back to 1908. Through Liberty Kenya Holdings' investment in East Africa, Heritage Tanzania is also a member of the Standard Bank Group, the largest financial services group in Africa. (Liberty Kenya Holdings Limited is also the holding company of Heritage and CfC Life Assurance Ltd in Kenya and a group associate of Stanbic Investment Management Services (EA) Ltd in Kenya and Uganda.)
MAC Group Limited, is Heritage's Tanzania local partner with a share holding of 40%.
